Aldia, specializing in jams, fruit fillings and glaces, supplies bakers in Belgium and abroad. In 2020, Aldia built a new factory and was looking for a partner to realize the utilities and processes in this modern site. Actemium was chosen as a total partner, responsible for process piping, electricity and automation.
Thinking along and unburdening
From the quotation phase onwards, Actemium intensively cooperated with Aldia. By responding flexibly to changing needs and budgets, an optimal plan could be worked out together. In the old factory, production was highly dependent on manual processes, which caused stress among employees. In the new plant, customized control screens allow the operators to control some process steps but all the underlying controls are fully automated. In this way, the operators can fully focus on their core tasks while retaining the freedom to make a perfect end product with varying raw materials.
Safety also played a major role, given the work with hot and boiling products. With a safety PLC and detection systems on the swing bend panels, an efficient and safe working environment was created.
A successful collaboration
It was a greenfield project, in which the layout of the plant was planned completely from scratch. Aldia appreciated Actemium’s flexible and solution-oriented approach during both the design phase and implementation. “We chose Actemium as a total partner to keep piping, electricity and automation in one hand. That gave us peace of mind and security during the start-up.”
Future-oriented partnership
Although the project has been completed, Actemium continues to support Aldia with questions and optimizations. This project is the beginning of a long-term partnership.
